Platform hosts webinar on Sustainable Reintegration in Rural Areas: Lessons Learned and Tools from FAO
On Thursday, 11 May 2023 at 11am Geneva time (CEST) the Return and Reintegration Platform (soon to be expanded into the Migrant Protection Platform) hosted the webinar "Sustainable Reintegration in Rural Areas: Lessons Learned and Tools from FAO". The event presented the findings and case studies from latest reports released by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and produced by Samuel Hall.
Sustainable reintegration represents an opportunity to support rural environments as spaces of protection and inclusion for returnees. To this extent, lessons and tools assist stakeholders and practitioners in addressing gaps in terms knowledge, policy and mechanisms in place and therefore contributing to achieve sustainable livelihoods and well-being for both returnees and local communities.

During the event, representatives from the FAO and Samuel Hall shared their insights on the methodology adopted, the findings and the case studies. Some of the questions from participants were adressed during a dedicated Q&A session; however, due to time constrains, some of them remained unaddressed. These will be available through the Platform's Community of Practice at: Reintegration in Rural Areas: Practices and Tools from FAO | Return and Reintegration Platform (iom.int)
