A webinar session  “IOM Reintegration Handbook: Presenting the IOM-UNICEF Module on Reintegration of Children and their Families” took place on 22 April 2021. Click here to access the recording!

The webinar presented the module 6 of the Reintegration Handbook and shared lessons learnt when providing reintegration assistance to children and their families.

The module, result of a collaborative effort between IOM and UNICEF, focuses on the reintegration of children and their families and complements the IOM Reintegration Handbook: practical guidance on the design, implementation and monitoring of reintegration assistance developed under the ORION project and funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

The module is conceived as a hands-on tool on how to integrate and promote appropriate reintegration practices for children returning to their countries of origin. It emphasizes the strengthening of child protection and social welfare systems, case management to facilitate referral to education, social protection, health care, access to justice and other appropriate services, and recommends the prioritization of community and family resources and practices.

The webinar was conducted in English and moderated by the EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub. A dedicated Q&A session allowed for meaningful exchanges with participants.
