As 2023 draws to a close, the Migrant Protection Platform (MPP) reflects on this year’s accomplishments, rich in fruitful collaborations and initiatives that set the stage for an even more impactful 2024. The Platform expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all collaborators, partners, and contributors who have played an instrumental role in achieving these milestones.

Key Initiatives: Spotlight Highlights

The MPP's Spotlight now includes numerous key initiatives that have played a crucial role within specialized protection areas. Collective endeavours include:

  • Ongoing collaboration with the virtual counselling team, which underscores the Platform's dedication in ensuring a holistic approach.
  • As well as an extended commitment to diversity an inclusion, with key actions such as  commemorating the  International Day of Persons with Disabilities and showcasing innovative approaches with the IOM Development Fund.

Knowledge Enrichment: The Platform’s Repositories

At the heart of the MPP's success lies the comprehensive offer of resources and learning tools, that have become reservoirs of knowledge in migrant protection. With the unwavering support of the community, the platform has achieved a remarkable milestone of 900+ publications in its main resource’s repository. This repository, meticulously curated, serves as a vital source of information for migrant protection practitioners and advocates. The increase in the knowledge base not only signifies a quantitative leap but underscores the Platform's commitment to providing relevant, diverse, and accessible content to those working towards safeguarding the rights of migrants.

With an eye on the future, the MPP outlines its plans for 2024. Among them the expansion and implementation of successful initiatives, the global launch of the platform in collaboration with the IOM Innovation and Knowledge Management Unit, and the development of dedicated communication activities aligned with organisational strategies.
